Lau Berraondo

BChD (U of Leeds 1995)

Lau graduated in 1995 from The University of Leeds and completed his vocational training in a prestigious practice in York. He then changed jobs to work in a very busy NHS practice outside Leeds. He was made senior associate and ran the practice until 2000. In 2000 he moved to the Ely area and set up his own dental practice. Chequer Hall Dental Practice was started in April 2001 and grew quickly to become the largest dental practice in the region. Lau was appointed the Dental Advisor for the East Cambridgeshire and Fenland PCT in 2005. In the middle of 2007 Chequer Hall celebrated seeing its 20,000th patient and is continuing to go from strength to strength.

Since his graduation Lau has been particularly interested in cosmetic and full mouth rehabilitative dentistry and it was this passion that led to the concept of a new dental practice. With no limitation from the NHS Lau envisaged a practice that would provide the best treatments that modern dentistry had to offer. Enhance was opened in June 2008. In the last year as a natural progression from his interest in cosmetic dentistry Lau began his intensive study into facial rejuvenation. He has completed advanced courses in the use of Botulinumtoxin, dermal fillers and skin peels and has been taught by some of the best facial practitioners in the UK.

Lau is a member of The British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, an associate member of the American Academy and regularly attends many post graduate courses. He is an alumnus of The Rosenthal Institute of New York whose faculty include some of the best dentists in the world.

Lau lives outside Ely with his young family.
