Lau Berraondo

Lau graduated from The University of Leeds in 1995. He completed his vocational training in a prestigious practice in York before moving to work in a busy NHS practice outside of Leeds, rising to the position of senior associate and running the practice until 2000.
He moved to the Ely area in 2000 to set up his own dental practice. Chequer Hall Dental Practice opened in April 2001 and quickly became the largest dental practice in the region.
Lau was appointed the Dental Advisor for the East Cambridgeshire and Fenland PCT in 2005.
Since his graduation Lau has been particularly interested in cosmetic and full mouth rehabilitative dentistry and it was this passion that led to the concept of a new dental practice. Without the limitations from the NHS, Lau envisaged a practice that would provide the best treatments that modern dentistry had to offer – Enhance was conceived and opened in June 2008.
Lau has completed advanced courses in the use of Botulinum toxin, dermal fillers and skin peels and has been taught by some of the best facial practitioners in the UK. Lau was the first clinician in Cambridgeshire to be included on the Independent Healthcare Advisory Services (IHAS) Register for Injectable Cosmetic Providers Quality Assurance Mark.
Lau is a member of The British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, an associate member of the American Academy and regularly attends many post graduate courses. He has attained Level III (known as the Masters Level) in Aesthetic Dentistry, at The Rosenthal Institute of New York University whose faculty includes some of the best dentists in the world. He has completed the one year implant course at Nobel Biocare.
Lau lives outside Ely with his young family.
Esther Jones

Esther graduated from The University of Leeds in 1995. She completed her vocational training in a busy mixed NHS and private practice in Yorkshire.
She temporarily left general practice and worked for two years as senior house officer in oral and maxillo-facial surgery in the Royal Preston Hospital and The Lister hospital in Stevenage. She was awarded membership of the faculty of dental surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons in 2000.
Esther returned to general dental practice in Cambridge in 1999. At the end of 2001 she joined Chequer Hall Dental Practice and quickly established an enviable reputation for clinical excellence. She left in June 2008 to join Lau Berraondo as senior associate at Enhance.
Her main areas of interest are complex restorative and cosmetic dentistry. Esther is a member of The British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, an associate member of the American Academy and regularly attends many postgraduate courses. In recent years she has continued her education with year long courses in restorative dentistry at the renowned St Ann's group in Manchester and cosmetic dentistry with the British Society for Cosmetic Dentistry in London.
She has taken her interest in orthodontics to the next level and is a registered Clearstep™ and Six Month Smiles™ practitioner providing brace treatment to adult patients.
Esther prides herself in making her patient feel comfortable under her care. Her considerate nature and gentle touch has helped her establish great relationships with her patients.
Cathy Barber RDH

Dental Hygienist
Cathy qualified as a Dental Hygienist in 1994 whilst serving in the Armed Forces. She has worked in the UK and abroad within a variety of settings; including Oral Surgery, Orthodontics and General Practice. For the last 14 years Cathy has had a particular interest in Periodontology and the treatment and management of advanced gum disease. She has worked closely with Consultant Periodontologists, Implantologists and Cosmetic Dentists.
Cathy lives in the Ely area with her family.
Cara Mitchell RDH/TH

Dental Therapist
Cara joined the team at Enhance in August 2010. She qualified in 2009 in hygiene and therapy from the Eastman Dental Hospital London.
Cara is trained to carry out hygiene services, treating gum disease and maintaining oral health.
In addition to hygiene, Cara’s therapy training enables her to perform restorative treatments, fillings and preventive treatment on both adults and children. She also has previous experience in working with special care patients.
Abigail Sinclair-Lord RDN

Practice Manager
Abigail has worked within the dental industry since 1998. She qualified as a dental nurse in 2001. She worked in general practice and for South Cambs and West Norfolk PCT within the busy emergency day centres and in the community visiting children in schools for promotion of oral health.
Abigail then worked as theatre dental nurse in Addenbrookes day surgery unit. In 2005 Abigail was appointed Practice Manager of a private practice near Cambridge. She then left the UK to travel and work abroad. She worked as a Practice Manager for an advanced cosmetic dental clinic in Sydney, Australia.
She returned in 2008 and became temporary practice manager for Lau Berraondo at Chequer Hall Dental. In this role she achieved her NVQ level 4 in management. She was then appointed to the Practice Manager position at Enhance Dental and Facial Rejuvenation.
Abigail is currently studying for her BTEC Diploma in Dental Practice Management.
Jemma Read RDN

Clinical Manager/Implant co-ordinator
Jemma began her career in dental nursing in 1996 and has been qualified since 1999. She first worked with Lau at Chequer Hall Dental practice where she was senior dental nurse from 2001–2008. Jemma was closely involved in the set-up of Enhance, her key roles within the team are to manage and maintain the clinical environment, supervise implant nursing and mentor the less experienced members of the clinical team. She is currently developing her role as Implant Co-ordinator.
Jemma is passionate about her continuing professional development. She attended the Aesthetic Advantage, London in 2008, the Nobel Biocare Foundation course in Implant Nursing 2010 and is currently studying for her Certificate in Implant Nursing at King’s College Hospital London.
Felicity Jane Chivers RDN

Head Nurse
Felicity started working for Lau Berraondo in 2003. She quickly achieved her qualification and became fully registered. She moved to Australia in 2007 and worked for various dental practices before being appointed Head Nurse/Practice Manager in a prestigious cosmetic dental practice in Brisbane.
She returned to the UK in 2009 and became a Practice Manager in South Cambridgeshire. Enhance was fortunate to be able to appoint her as Head Nurse in 2010, she is also treatment co-ordinator for Dr Lau Berraondo.
Felicity is currently studying for her Certificate in Implant Nursing at King’s College Hospital London.
Samantha Bennett RDN

Samantha qualified as a dental nurse in 1999. She joined Chequer Hall Dental Practice in 2006 working as Esther’s nurse. She moved to Enhance in 2008, continuing her role as Esther’s nurse and is also her treatment co-ordinator.

Jo joined Enhance in April 2009 as a trainee dental nurse. She is currently studying for the National exam of dental nursing.
Sue Dunckley
Head Reception
Sue has worked at enhance since it opened in 2008. Her warm and friendly personality allows the reception to be efficient whilst at the same time welcoming.
